ADHD Misdiagnosed
What is ADHD?
Life with ADHD

History of ADHD
Originally known as Hyperkinetic Impulse Disorder, ADHD as we now know it, wasn't classified as a mental disorder until the 1960's.

Raising Awareness of Misdiagnosis
According to the CDC, 11 percent of children between the ages of 4-17 have been clinically diagnosed with ADHD. About 4 percent of adults, who were not diagnosed during childhood, have been clinically diagnosed with the disorder.

Medical Evaluations for Children
According to CHADD (The National Resource on ADHD), "Although there is no single medical, physical, or genetic test for ADHD, a diagnostic evaluation can be provided by a qualified mental health care professional or physician who gathers information from multiple sources."
